Meet Moragh
Certified Health Coach
I spent most of my working life as a GP but juggling family and work left me in a state of constant low grade stress. Navigating a difficult perimenopause and the COVID pandemic led me to burnout and to a life rethink. I had already trained as a Life Coach and was amazed by the power of coaching to move people into a positive and creative place which opened up so many possibilities for change. And I had formally studied the evidence of the significant contribution of lifestyle behaviours - diet, sleep, stress management, exercise - to many of the diseases of middle and later life with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. These qualifications came together in Health Coaching and I certified as a Health Coach with UKIHCA in 2023.

​I see people, usually for a minimum of three sessions and, depending of the level of challenge, often several more. My typical client is a successful, working, woman who has realised that they need to address their own health, either because they want to lose weight, and have more energy, or because they have had reason to become concerned about their risk of cancer, dementia or other health threat. However, there are many other possible clients and many reasons to think about improving your health.


I went to see Morag when I realised that my running mojo had vanished. Running had been my go-to form of exercise and I felt lost without it. Morag asked me loads of questions and most importantly listened to the answers and from there we formulated a plan and a goal. I changed my goal but that’s all right because my session with Morag worked on a deeper level to realise what I thought I wanted wasn’t that at all. Thanks, Morag!

I saw Morag as I was shocked when I received a breast cancer diagnosis and I felt I needed to do more to look after myself and my health. Morag was kind, patient and listened properly to me which I really needed at the time. She talked me through nutrition to keep myself well including cooking advice and recipes! She noticed when I was not really committing to a change and challenged me which was great.
I am grateful that she noticed another health issue that I needed to raise with my GP and wrote so that I did not have to explain myself. My GP changed some of my medication as a result of this.

We discussed different types of exercise and my approach to them and how I wanted to feel long term, which has put me in a different mindset to training.

I seem to have gradually put on weight through my life and especially since the menopause. My blood markers were not great and the experience of my father dying of dementia meant that I really did not want to put my children through the same thing. Morag listened and heard me, she listened in a way that made me think differently and I started sorting out my sleep which made a big difference to everything else. I am in a much better place than I was two years ago. I am exercising regularly and I never thought I would say that, my diet is consistently much better, I rarely drink alcohol any more and my relationships are much much better.
